When Tom and Sandy purchased the store in 2012, they stood on the roof and realized the view of the lake that could be achieved by adding floors to the building. In 2022 the first phase of that dream became a reality with the addition of the Golden Road Yacht Club. In the fall of 2021, the foundation and base structure went through a major renovation to prepare for the building to add two more stories in the future. The first phase was to prepare the building for that expansion and to add the bar so guests could now eat and drink on site and enjoy the amazing view of the lake afforded by the second-floor deck.
In the winter of 2023/2024 they embarked on a major expasion to the building to add retail space, have a bar/restaurant inside as well as on the decks, increase the size of our two kitchens, and add a lounge area with leather coaches and a great views on the second and third floors. This effort took seven months and they re-opened in June 2024. The original building had rot through out the structure and this expansion should see the Golden Road Crossing building stand the test of time.
Many ask why the name Golden Road Yacht Club? We discussed many names but decided being next to the Golden Road it seemed only fitting to give a nod to the famous Golden Road and being in between Millinocket and Pemadumcook Chain of Lakes the Yacht Club was added to the name.
We offer all kinds of beer, wine, and cocktails with a eye towards Maine Brews and Spirits. All specialty drinks are hand crafted with home made special syrups, garnish and local spirits if available. We of course have a full bar to choose from and will make most drinks, other than frozen drinks due to lack of space. Our full menu is available inside and outside and offers appetizers, flat bread pizza, traditional pizza, paninis, specialty sandwiches, and much more. We offer fresh shucked oyster from the middle of June through Labor Day on weekends as well as weekends from December through the end of March. View our menu and picture gallery below.
